MsGrace and I have been batting around some BattleStar things and She has interesting ideas. Some comments from episodes I didn't blog...
Both of us agree that Baltar needs to be anything but insane. If he's one of the "unspoken of" cylons, OK if not then there had better be a good reason for it besides insanity (I totally agree with MsGrace on that one). I'm hoping that the writers will keep him human with a plausible explanation. I don't want him to be cylon because then he was just following programming when he destroyed humanity. If he's human then he's much more of a monster. But how is "six in his head"?
MsGrace wants the technology (as do I ) so that she can be even more in billy's head then she already is. Now I didn't think I was bondage guy but last night's TeaseTime ... wow. Using a tool as primitive as chat MsGrace had me so horny and so turned on and bitch slapping me with the "no cummies" and probing me and teasing me ... and not just me. My heavens! She will get her Christmas wish of ruling the world if she gets a hold of that technology! I just hope I can afford the per minute charges ... nah ... even if I can't afford it I'm buying it!
The cylon religion is interesting to billy. D'Anna keeps offing herself to get visions and to perhaps enter the light, but to do that would mean true cylon death. Can intelligent machines evolve? Do they have a soul? Again I thank God I have one otherwise I couldn't have forked it over to MsGrace - then what? ::billy shudders at the thought::
That should bring you up to speed on some of the goings on for the episode or two I didn't post.
Tonight is Unfinished Business and was utterly fantastic!!!
Billy had some doubts at first. There were no cylons but I have this thing for Kira Thrace. I identify with her very strongly. She's crazy and utterly self destructive. Not a great role model but she also carries a hurt in her and an awesome inner strength, she simply wont give up and I just love that! All of the BattleStar characters are flawed, it's one of the shows greatest strengths.
In this episode Adama allows the crew to box, rank doesn't count and it's the people who stayed on the ship vs. those that went to New Caprica. The story is told in a circular manner cutting between some of the events occurring on New Caprica and what is occurring in the ring. By the end of the show I was totally floored as more and more was explained as to why some things were happening. It primarily centered around Lee (Apollo) and Kira (Starbuck) and their fight in the ring where they worked out their issues.
Some highlights for billy:
The wonderful shit eating grin Kira sported on her face as she took on "Hotdog" who was dumb enough to challenger her (Kira: "Oh you have got to be kidding me"). I imagine MsGrace having similar thoughts and an identical grin when I issued my little teapot challenge. I lasted about as long as Hotdog.
The fact that by the end of the fight both Apollo and Starbuck were still standing, embracing, showing their love for each other in front of the crew and their respective spouses. A draw, equally flawed and just plain equal.
This show just floors me with how well it's written.

billy... I don't know beans about Battlestar......yet, but Princess is enrolling me in a home schooling program so I will learn more about it. I know it's not the type of homework that you would expect Princess to give out, but this way I'll be able to converse somewhat intelligently with both of you on the subject.
ReplyDeleteAnd you shouldn't be too surprised that Princess' bondage techniques would turn you on so much. Why do you think that my calls usually end up going in that direction? She is sooooo good at it!
